Junior Automation EngineerBrooksource is seeking a motivated Junior Automation Test Engineer to join our Fortune 200 Banking partner's IVR and Chat team in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role (three days onsite, two days remote) is ideal for early-career professionals interested in test automation, quality assurance, or software engineering. As part of the team supporting customer experience platforms across both the Auto and Bank business units, you will help test and validate Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and chat-based customer interactions while contributing to the team's growing automation initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer, QA professional, or developer interested in transitioning into test automation. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and is motivated to take ownership of work in a highly collaborative environment. You will spend your initial onboarding period learning our client's testing processes, telephony platforms, and customer experience workflows before gradually taking ownership of test execution, automation scripting, and support of IVR and chatbot initiatives.Role Responsibilities:Support testing efforts for IVR, contact center, and chatbot applications across Auto and Bank organizationsCreate, execute, and maintain manual and automated test casesDevelop and maintain Python-based automation scripts for customer interaction workflowsValidate functionality, performance, and customer experience across voice and chat channelsAnalyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams on issue resolutionAssist with automation initiatives for IVR and chatbot testingParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and story validation activitiesCollaborate with product owners, developers, business analysts, and QA team membersLearn and support telephony and conversational AI technology ecosystemsContinuously identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automationRequired Qualifications:0-1 years of experience in Software Testing, QA, Test Automation, Software Engineering, or a related fieldExperience developing scripts or applications using PythonUnderstanding of software testing concepts and QA methodologiesExposure to test automation frameworks or automated testing practicesAbility to troubleshoot issues and analyze test resultsStrong communication and collaboration skillsDemonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting chatbot or conversational AI solutionsExperience testing IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systemsExposure to contact center technologies such as Genesys, NICE, or similar platformsExposure to AI platforms such as Claude, Google Gemini, or other generative AI chatbot solutionsExperience with automated testing of voice or chat applicationsBasic understanding of AWS cloud servicesPrior software development experience and an interest in transitioning into QA/Test AutomationWhat is in it for you:Opportunity to work with a Fortune 200 Banking partner on innovative customer experience platformsLong-term contract with potential for future conversion based on performance and business needCollaborative, growth-oriented team cultureHands-on experience with IVR, chatbots, and automation technologiesProfessional development and learning opportunities in test automation and conversational AI
