Sanborn Mills Farm
Chef / Culinary Manager Full-Time | Sanborn Mills Farm | Loudon, NH Cook with Purpose. Imagine building menus around vegetables harvested that morning, preparing meals that bring people together, and working in a place where food is part of a larger story about agriculture, craftsmanship, and community. Sanborn Mills Farm is seeking an experienced chef to lead our farm-to-table culinary program. This is an opportunity to step away from the pace of a traditional restaurant while continuing to cook at a high level with exceptional local ingredients. As a nationally recognized center for sustainable agriculture, traditional craft, and hands-on education, Sanborn Mills Farm brings together farming, food, hospitality, and learning in a truly unique setting. Our kitchen serves workshop participants, retreat guests, instructors, donors, and community members, creating memorable meals that reflect the rhythms of the seasons and the abundance of our working farm. What You'll Do Create seasonal menus inspired by ingredients grown on the farm and sourced from local producers. Lead all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory, sanitation, and team coordination. Collaborate with farmers and program staff to showcase each season's harvest. Prepare meals for educational programs, retreats, workshops, special events, and community gatherings. Share your knowledge and enthusiasm for great food while helping guests connect farming, cooking, and stewardship. Foster a welcoming kitchen culture built on collaboration, hospitality, and excellence. We're Looking For Someone Who Has at least five years of professional kitchen leadership experience. Is passionate about seasonal cooking and scratch-made food. Values local agriculture and sustainable food systems. Leads with professionalism, creativity, and humility. Enjoys working with diverse groups of guests, volunteers, educators, and staff. Brings teaching, mentoring, or hospitality experience (preferred but not required). Why This Role Is Different This isn't restaurant service. It's an opportunity to build meaningful culinary experiences in a beautiful historic setting where relationships matter as much as recipes. Here you'll have the freedom to cook with the seasons, collaborate directly with the farm, and help shape an evolving culinary program that supports education, conservation, and community. If you're looking for work that is creative, collaborative, and deeply connected to the land, we'd love to hear from you and explore how your talents can help shape the future of Sanborn Mills Farm.
