Salesforce is seeking a transformational Senior Vice President (SVP) to lead Global Solution Engineering for Tableau and serve as a key member of the Tableau & Data360 (D360) Leadership Team. This executive will lead a high-performing global Solutions Engineering organization and shape a differentiated go-to-market strategy that reinforces Tableau as a strategic platform within Salesforce. The SVP will further position Tableau as the semantic intelligence layer for the AI-first enterprise, accelerating adoption and expansion across Data360, Agentforce, and Customer 360.

The role will be instrumental in aligning Sales, Industry, Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Strategy, while serving as a senior executive in strategic customer engagements and large-scale initiatives. As the head of Global Solution Engineering, the SVP will foster a strong, values-driven culture, build trusted customer relationships, and serve as a Tableau evangelist across the broader Salesforce ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will be a proven, inspiring global leader with deep expertise in pre-sales, consulting, and team development, and a track record of building and scaling high-performing organizations, driving growth, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale Tableau’s Global Solution Engineering organization as one unified, high-performing global team, attracting, developing, and retaining world-class talent while fostering a culture of engagement, inclusion, and excellence.
• Champion the Agentic Enterprise vision by positioning Tableau as the semantic intelligence layer for the AI-first enterprise and establishing Tableau at the center of the next wave of enterprise transformation.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior Tableau and Consumption CoE leadership, with broad influence across global leadership, shaping technology vision and advancing differentiated points of view that influence product strategy, go-to-market, and market direction.
• Drive continuous innovation in solution-selling strategies, ensuring teams deliver differentiated, industry-specific value propositions aligned to customer needs.
• Build and sustain trusted C-level relationships with strategic customers, guiding complex digital transformation initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Partner with Sales leadership (i.e., regional SVPs, EVPs, OU leaders) to execute growth-focused go-to-market strategies and embed Tableau across the field as a core growth priority.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Innovation teams to align to the product roadmap and enable the field to clearly articulate and deliver Tableau’s value – particularly across Tableau Next, the semantic layer, and the Agentforce integration story.
• Champion diversity and inclusion while driving talent development, performance management, and succession planning to ensure leadership continuity and career growth.
• Serve as a cultural ambassador and role model for Salesforce values, setting a high bar for leadership excellence across the global organization.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Extensive pre-sales leadership or consulting experience in enterprise software, particularly across Sales, Marketing, Service, or Support, with strong commercial acumen and a sales-oriented mindset.
• Proven ability to build trusted C-level relationships and shape value-based solutions, particularly with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Digital & Data Officers, and other senior stakeholders.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with Analytics, BI, or data platforms and knowledge of emerging AI and agentic technologies strongly preferred.
• Experience leading complex enterprise transformations, including multi-phase roadmaps and business innovation at scale.
• Demonstrated success scaling high-performing global pre-sales or consulting organizations, with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous growth.
• Consistent track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and performance goals while fostering collaboration, accountability, and team development.
• Forward-thinking technology and innovation leader with the ability to anticipate market trends and translate them into customer and business value.
• Inspirational people leader with a passion for developing talent, unlocking potential, and cultivating future leaders.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to simplify and articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
• Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

The typical base salary range for this position is $368,000 - $441,000 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $368,000 - $441,000 per year.
