Formulation Chemist - Hair Color

Join a leading global personal care innovator in Darien, CT as a Chemist! In this key lab-based role, you will drive the development and stability testing of cutting-edge hair color and consumer care products.

responsibilities:

• Safely prepare hair color laboratory batches and conduct product stability testing.
• Evaluate color performance, documenting and communicating efficacy and stability results accurately.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, including pH meters, viscometers, and batching tools.
• Prepare hair tresses and fill consumer laboratory samples while adhering strictly to cGMP standards.
• Manage laboratory raw materials, glassware, supplies, and waste disposal.
• Coordinate with raw material suppliers to support ongoing formulation projects.

 
qualifications:

• BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• 3-4 years of experience in hair color/care or consumer product formulation.
• Demonstrated experience with cGMP practices and standard lab equipment (pH meters, viscometers).
• Strong data management capabilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to physically lift bulk materials and manage laboratory inventory.
