Construction Safety Specialist Job at a Glance Title: Construction Safety Specialist Location: Onsite |Orlando, FL (First Shift, 7a-4p) Contract: 22 months initial with potential for conversion to full time Pay: $65.00-70.00/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match Overview Our Client is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to serve as a key technical safety resource throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position supports project teams from feasibility through completion by providing safety oversight, prevention through design, contractor safety management, regulatory compliance guidance, hazard analysis, and safety assurance strategies focused on protecting workers, guests, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Oversee construction safety efforts from project feasibility through completion in partnership with internal teams and contractors Conduct inspections, field reviews, audits, and acceptance testing activities Review contractor safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and work permits Ensure contractor pre-qualification requirements are met Monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and site-specific requirements Facilitate and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings Maintain frequent field presence across active construction projects Support prevention through design initiatives and project design safety reviews Provide guidance regarding regulatory compliance, hazard analysis, and safety assurance strategies Required Skills Bachelor's Degree required 6+ years of experience in Construction Safety, General Construction, Industrial Safety & Health, Safety Engineering, or related field Strong knowledge of FED OSHA and CAL OSHA regulations and construction safety practices Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes Experience conducting project design reviews and applying Safety by Design concepts Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety best practices Ability to independently solve problems and address issues outside primary areas of expertise Strong conflict resolution and communication skills Preferred Skills OSHA 30 (Construction) or higher certification CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification Experience supporting multi-trade construction activities and construction safety regulatory standards Advanced degree related to Construction, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related discipline Preferred Skills 10+ years of relevant construction safety experience Why Should I Apply?
