Job Type:Full timeExempt/Non Exempt:SalaryJob Description:Location Details:Hybrid – Tampa, FloridaPosition Schedule / Shift:Monday-Friday 8am-5pm ETPosition Summary:As a driven experienced Florida Litigation Bodily Injury Adjuster skilled in evaluating high-exposure claims, partnering with legal counsel, and resolving complex cases through strategic negotiation and sound decision-making. A strong knowledge of Florida bodily injury claims, litigation processes, coverage analysis, and negotiation techniques is essential to minimize financial exposure and support organizational objectives.Key Responsibilities:In this position, you will have the opportunity to:Reviewing assigned claimsContacting the insured and other affected parties,Setting expectations for the remainder of the claim process, and thoroughly documenting activities in the claim file.Complete complex coverage analysis,Ensure all possible policyholder benefits are identified,Complete an investigation of the facts regarding the claim,Determine if the claim should be paid and confirm recovery potential.Conducting thorough reviews of damages and determining the applicability of state law and other factors related to the claim.Identify when to refer claims to other company units (e.g., Underwriting, Subrogation or Special Investigation Unit).Possess strong critical thinking and negotiating skills.Handle both attorney represented and unrepresented claimants with injury claims that may involve coverage investigation, liability disputes, bodily injuries, and litigation.Assist Claim Manager with file reviews and training.Qualifications:RequiredEducation (including minimum education and any licensing/certifications):In states where an Adjuster’s license is required, the candidate must have a Florida State Adjuster License.Degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related field or the equivalent in related work experienceA valid driver's license is required if the primary responsibilities of the role involve conducting in-person inspections or frequent in-person meetings with members.Experience:Five years of experience or equivalent training in the following:negotiation of claim settlementssecuring and evaluating evidencepreparing manual and electronic estimatessubrogation claimsresolving coverage questionstaking statementsestablishing clear evaluation and resolution plans for claimsKnowledge and Skills:Advance knowledge of:Fair Trade Practices Act as it relates to claimsSubrogation procedures and processesIntercompany arbitrationHandling litigationAdvance knowledge of:Negligence LawNo-Fault Lawmedical terminology and human anatomySkills:handle claims to the line Claim Handling Standardsfollow and apply ACG Claim policies, procedures and guidelineswork within assigned ACG Claim systems including basic PC softwareperform basic claim file review and investigationsdemonstrate effective communication skills (verbal and written)demonstrate customer service skills by building and maintaining relationships with insured/claimants while exhibiting understanding of their problems and responding to questions and concernsanalyze and solve problems while demonstrating sound decision-making skillsprioritize claim related functionsprocess time sensitive data and information from multiple sourcesmanage time, organize and plan workload and responsibilitiesresearch analyze and interpret subrogation laws in various statestravel outside of assigned territory which may involve overnight stayrelocate, work evenings or weekendsMust reside within 50 miles from Tampa, FloridaPreferredEducation:Associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related field or the equivalent in related work experienceComplete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experienceCompletion of the Insurance Institute of America's: General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims, Associate in Management or equivalentCPCU coursework or designationFive years of Litigation file handling experienceWork Environment:This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities.
