In this position, you'll work closely with teams across Assembly, Engineering, Testing, Customer Service, and external partners to support inspections, maintain compliance documentation, manage calibration programs, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.

What You'll Be DoingQuality & Inspection

• Coordinate and support First Article Inspections (FAI) for new products.
• Prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for customer approval before shipment.
• Verify customer documentation requirements and help ensure on-time deliveries.
• Perform inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and other quality instruments.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to verify product conformance.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Retrieve engineering documents, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production information using the ERP system (P21).
• Support traceability requirements by ensuring records are properly maintained and archived.
• Communicate with customers regarding RoHS and REACH compliance requirements.
• Coordinate long-term document storage with third-party archival providers.

Collaboration & Customer Support

• Partner with Assembly, Engineering, Test, and Customer Service teams to support quality objectives.
• Coordinate the scheduling, submission, and follow-up of FAIR packages with customers.
• Respond professionally to customer questions regarding quality, documentation, and shipments.
• Work cross-functionally to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

• Collect and compile monthly 5S performance data .
• Support workplace organization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to maintaining a strong quality management system throughout the organization.

Calibration Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for tool and equipment calibration activities.
• Coordinate calibration services with third-party vendors.
• Maintain accurate calibration schedules and records to ensure compliance.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• Experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with FAI/FAIR processes .
• Ability to read and interpret:
  • Engineering drawings
  • Blueprints
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Technical documentation
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and inspection techniques.
• Experience using inspection tools such as calipers and measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and manufacturing quality standards.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably P21 or similar platforms.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RoHS and REACH compliance requirements.
• Background in customer service within a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Experience supporting corrective and preventive action processes.
• Familiarity with calibration management and vendor coordination.
• Experience in industries such as:

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based and involves working with quality documentation, reports, ERP systems, and customer communications. You'll also spend time collaborating with production and quality teams on the manufacturing floor.

Occasionally, you'll work in warehouse and shipping areas to support incoming and outgoing product activities. The environment is professional, fast-paced, and dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
