Commercial / Industrial Environmental Services Lead Location: Valhalla, NY or New York City, NY. Job Overview WSP is seeking a Commercial / Industrial Environmental Services Lead to join the Earth & Environment Team. The role focuses on managing complex environmental projects, driving client growth, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Responsibilities Manage projects to meet client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget. Lead larger‑scale projects, define deliverables, oversee budgets, monitor external events, track hours and expenses, and supervise subcontractors and contract staff. Develop and expand the client base for high‑level environmental services, identifying new business opportunities. Conduct investigations and inspections of air emission sources, hazardous or solid waste facilities, water supply facilities, industrial and agricultural sites, pollution sources, proposed and existing site conditions, water resources, and underground storage tanks. Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain findings and recommend actions to prevent, control, restore, clean up, or address environmental issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to provide forward‑looking solutions for clients. Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline. 7 to 10 years of post‑education experience in environmental services. Proven ability to manage and grow client accounts in the commercial/industrial sector. Detailed knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements. Project management experience with small to mid‑level projects, including tracking hours and expenses. Experience reviewing documents and preparing complex technical deliverables. Effectiveness at coordinating and directing subcontractors to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and prioritization under pressure. Occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field. Professional licensure or certification. 40‑hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120). Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training. Compensation Expected salary: $118,000 – $200,500, based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
