PART-TIME ACCOUNTING & BOOKKEEPING SPECIALIST

$24/hour | Part-Time with Full-Time Potential

Plants Forever is looking for an experienced, organized, and detail-loving accounting professional to join our team.

We need someone who understands that bookkeeping is more than entering numbers. You should be comfortable with accrual-basis accounting , AP/AR, reconciliations, job costing, and keeping the financial side of the business running smoothly.

If you like knowing where the numbers came from, catching something that doesn’t look right, and keeping things beautifully organized—you’ll fit right in.

The position begins part-time, with the potential to grow into a full-time opportunity as the role develops and the company continues to grow.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Own the Numbers

·         Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable .

·         Enter bills, invoices, payments, and receipts in QuickBooks Online.

·         Keep vendor and customer accounts organized and up to date.

·         Follow up on outstanding receivables when needed.

·         Communicate with clients and vendors regarding billing and payments.

Know Your Accruals

Accrual-basis accounting experience is a must.

·         Record revenue and expenses in the appropriate accounting period.

·         Manage accrued and prepaid expenses.

·         Handle adjusting entries and reclassifications.

·         Understand how transactions flow through the financial statements.

·         Help keep our books accurate and ready for month-end and year-end close.

Follow the Jobs

Our work is project-based, so job costing matters .

·         Track expenses by project.

·         Properly code materials, purchases, and other job-related expenses.

·         Make sure costs land on the correct customer and job.

·         Help identify discrepancies or missing information.

·         Work with the team to keep project financial information accurate.

Reconcile. Review. Repeat.

·         Reconcile bank accounts.

·         Reconcile credit cards.

·         Reconcile vendor accounts.

·         Research discrepancies.

·         Keep supporting documentation organized and digital.

·         Help make sure everything ties out.

✨ Help Us Close the Books

·         Assist with monthly and year-end close.

·         Prepare and/or enter journal entries.

·         Record accruals and adjustments.

·         Review balance sheet accounts.

·         Help prepare information for management and our outside CPA/accounting professionals.

YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU...

·         Have 3+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience .

·         Have real-world accrual-basis accounting experience .

·         Know your way around QuickBooks Online .

·         Understand AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close.

·         Are comfortable with job costing or project-based accounting.

·         Notice details other people miss.

·         Like things organized and accurate.

·         Can work independently and take ownership.

·         Are comfortable asking questions and solving problems.

·         Can communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and our team.

BONUS POINTS

Experience in construction, interiors, design, landscaping, facilities, or another project-based business is a plus.

Payroll: Bi-weekly

Paid Holidays: Christmas & New Year’s Day
