Assistant Controller

We are conducting a confidential search for a high-level Assistant Controller to provide direct strategic and operational support to the Controller. This is an elevated technical accounting position—not a routine staff or bookkeeping role—designed for an experienced professional capable of independently navigating complex reconciliations, multi-entity financial reporting, GAAP research, and system transitions.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent technical accounting capabilities alongside hands-on experience supporting mid-market ERP implementations and data conversions.

Responsibilities

• Technical Accounting & Close Oversight: Lead month-end close procedures, research complex GAAP accounting issues, execute high-level journal entries, and oversee multi-entity account reconciliations and consolidated financial reporting.

• ERP System Migration Support: Assist the Controller through the discovery, selection, testing, and implementation phase as the company transitions from Microsoft Dynamics GP to a new mid-market ERP platform (such as Acumatica).

• Data Conversion & Systems Testing: Manage data migration, UAT testing, system integrations, and reconciliation procedures to ensure financial data integrity during system conversion.

• Internal Controls & Process Optimization: Evaluate current accounting workflows, identify operational inefficiencies, implement robust internal controls, and create clear SOP documentation.

• Executive Decision Support: Conduct variance and financial analysis, investigate accounting anomalies, and present actionable solutions directly to leadership.
