Key Responsibilities
- Room and discharge patients in an outpatient clinical setting
- Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) as directed
- Support care for patients presenting with conditions including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, post-ER follow-up, and sick visits
- Complete all required orientation, training, and annual skills competency requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience
- Certificate verifying successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited institution
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- One of the following active certifications required: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT)
- Basic computer skills required
- Experience working in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
- Familiarity with chronic disease management including diabetes and hypertension
- Opportunity to work in a structured, supportive outpatient clinical environment with consistent daytime hours
- Gain valuable experience managing a diverse patient population across a variety of common diagnoses
