We do this by seeking every day to answer the question -Will this be safe and bring comfort and joy to every child?Our cultural foundation is built on quality, trust, and value, all bundled together in 90 years of happy little clients while focused on continuously improving to ensure many more years of happy little clients.POSITION SUMMARY: Lead the daily operation of the Jedburg Fulfillment Center shipping function, following all policies and procedures, while conducting the business of Gerber Childrenswear, LLC efficiently and professionally.FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:Lead and support shipping team members throughout the daily operation.Assign daily work based on shipping priorities, workload, and staffing.Ensure orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time.Monitor workflow and help the team meet daily productivity goals.Verify shipping documentation, labels, quantities, and order accuracy.Coordinate priorities and resolve shipping issues or order discrepancies.Communicate with supervisors, warehouse teams, and other departments as needed.Train new team members on shipping procedures, equipment, safety, and quality expectations.Provide coaching and direction to team members when performance or quality issues arise.Ensure employees follow all warehouse safety rules and proper material-handling procedures.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping area.Ensure equipment and workstations are used properly and report damaged or unsafe equipment.Monitor attendance, breaks, and staffing coverage during the shift.Assist with shipping and other warehouse duties when additional support is needed.Identify process problems and recommend improvements to increase safety, accuracy, and efficiency.Complete required shipping paperwork, reports, and end-of-shift communication.Communicate unfinished work, priority orders, and important issues to the next shift or supervisor.Lead by example by demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude.Any other duty assigned by managementAccountabilities:Performance expectations will be met when the above duties are performed with minimal or zero errors and minimal complaints are received by internal and external customers.Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, and lift packages up to 25 lbs.POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience:High school diploma or GED.2+ years related warehouse experience, preferably in shippingSkills and Abilities :Experience with Deposco system is preferredSelf-motivated, hands on, and flexibleMust be able to identify problems and resolve in a timely manner; possess a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately.Promote an environment conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and effectivenessProficient in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internetProfessional verbal communication skills and customer service orientationAnalytical ability to summarize data and data entry skillsExcellent organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail/accuracyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment while managing multiple tasksMachines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:License(s) /Certification(s) Required: None RequiredThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
