Electrical Design Engineer (Fully Remote)

About the RoleWe are seeking a full-time Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical engineering and design services for healthcare infrastructure projects. This role focuses on healthcare facilities—including hospitals, laboratories, clean rooms, medical office buildings, and other clinical environments—and may also support additional facility types as required.ResponsibilitiesProduce electrical design layouts and construction documents for healthcare facilities (hospitals, laboratories, clean rooms, etc.)Perform electrical feasibility studies, load calculations, and power system analysesDesign low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, including normal, emergency, and critical power systemsDevelop and review electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and design narrativesConduct site surveys and existing condition assessments for renovation and retrofit projectsPerform or support arc-flash studies and electrical system coordination analysesCoordinate with mechanical, commissioning, and multidisciplinary design teamsProvide construction-phase engineering support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observationsPerform construction verification and support field functional testing as neededReview work for code compliance and conformance with applicable standardsStamp and seal electrical construction documents as a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)Experience designing electrical and mechanical/electrical building systems, preferably in healthcare environmentsExperience performing critical power and electrical infrastructure assessmentsStrong understanding of electrical distribution systems across a variety of facility typesExperience with medium- and low-voltage power systemsFamiliarity with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, NETA, and IECCWorking knowledge of other building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and IT/communicationsExperience performing site surveys and field inspectionsStrong technical documentation and report-writing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects while meeting schedule and budget requirementsStrong communication, coordination, and organizational skillsRequired Skills and KnowledgeAbility to assess existing conditions and develop electrical design solutions for complex healthcare facilitiesAbility to coordinate design requirements with facility stakeholders and operational constraintsAbility to determine compliance of electrical designs with codes, standards, and project requirementsKnowledge of healthcare-specific electrical systems, including emergency and essential electrical systemsAbility to independently manage technical quality, schedule, and deliverablesProficiency with engineering design software and standard computer applicationsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environmentEducationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institutionActive Electrical Professional Engineer (P.E.) license requiredAbility and authorization to stamp and seal electrical construction documentsCommissioning experience or certification is a plus401(k)Annual profit-sharing contribution to 401(k)Health insurancePaid time offBenefitsVision insuranceShort-term disabilityLong-term disabilityTerm life insuranceMedical BridgeCritical illnessAny and all job offers are contingent pending work status eligibility and passing a federal government background check.J-18808-Ljbffr
