Position Number: 105650 Classification Title: Information Specialist Working Title: Digital Accessibility and Reserves Specialist Department: Library Admin FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $40,000 Pay Basis: Annually POSITION OVERVIEW JOB SUMMARY: Performs daily shifts at the circulation service desk and provides backup service desk assistance as needed. Opens the library Monday through Friday. Oversees Course Reserves functions, including processing print, digital materials, and streaming materials. Collaborates with faculty and oversees the permanent reserve collections. Recommends policies to enhance the efficiency of reserve services. Works with other units on campus to make library materials accessible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma and appropriate library experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate with related library experience, strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer candidates with some college education, general knowledge of library operations, and familiarity with a library computer system. Experience with online learning platforms preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: 45% - Handles public service desk and course reserves duties, such as circulating materials, supervising desk students, addressing circulation issues, assisting patrons in locating course reserves, and receiving packages. Oversees all circulation and library activities during opening hours, including monitoring building maintenance and security issues. Opens the library five days a week. - (Essential) 25% - Coordinates and oversees all Course Reserves functions: processing print, electronic, and streaming video reserve materials; interacting with faculty regarding requests; and removing materials from reserves. Maintains the permanent reserve collection and the video collection; recommends policies/procedures to enhance the effectiveness of permanent reserve services - (Essential) 25% - Conducts accessibility audits for library materials, provides recommendations for improvements on library platforms with guidance from CTLT, and ensures library materials on learning platforms are accessible. - (Essential) 5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical Requirements: Occasional and/or light lifting required. Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable.
