Accounts Payable Specialist (Finance)
We're looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team! This role is perfect for someone with strong full-cycle AP experience, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Location: Canton Crossing, Baltimore, MD (100% Remote)
Job Type: Contract
What You'll Do:
- Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable: coding, posting, matching invoices, and maintaining AP ledgers.
- Partner with internal/external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Support month-end close, GL reconciliation, and prepare cash requirement reports.
- Train and mentor junior AP team members.
- Assist with audits, documentation, and cross-functional financial operations.
- Provide leadership support in the Supervisor's absence.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles & GL/AP processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database/query tools (Access, SQL, Yardi)
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Experience with Oracle or Ariba is a plus
Education: High School Diploma required
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree: 4 additional years of AP experience
***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen's client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.***
