Job Summary

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting compelling grant proposals to secure funding for the organization’s projects and initiatives. This role involves collaboration with internal teams to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals, maintaining relationships with funders, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines.

Grant Development & Management

• Research and identify federal, state (including NJ), county, municipal, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities
• Write, submit, and manage grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and funding applications
• Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather narratives, data, outcomes, and budgets
• Develop grant budgets and fiscal narratives in coordination with finance staff
• Track grant deadlines, submissions, awards, and reporting requirements
• Prepare and submit required progress, outcome, and close-out reports
• Ensure compliance with all grant terms, conditions, and funder requirements
• Maintain organized grant files, documentation, and correspondence
• Support audits, monitoring reviews, and site visits related to grant funding

Meetings, Collaboration & Donations

• Attend internal and external meetings, including leadership meetings, program planning sessions, funder briefings, and community partner meetings
• Collaborate with leadership and program staff to assess agency needs and funding priorities
• Research, solicit, and obtain financial and in-kind donations based on agency needs
• Prepare donation requests, sponsorship proposals, and contribution letters
• Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, donors, and community partners
• Coordinate with vendors and partners regarding donated goods and services
• Track, document, and acknowledge donations in accordance with organizational and donor requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
