Position Summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Leesville is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environment of Care (EOC) team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates professionalism, and enjoys contributing to a positive healthcare environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hospital in accordance with established procedures.
• Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and disinfect assigned areas.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste according to hospital policies.
• Restock housekeeping supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory is low.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Follow infection prevention and safety guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• One (1) to three (3) years of housekeeping experience in a hospital, behavioral health, nursing home, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Previous environmental services experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements, including bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals while following safety procedures.

Working Environment

This position is located within an inpatient behavioral health hospital. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, moderate noise levels, and patients experiencing behavioral health crises. Freedom Behavioral Hospital is a smoke-free workplace.

Required Upon Hire

• Current government-issued photo identification
• Verification of education
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
• Behavioral Management Training (provided if applicable)
• Tuberculosis (TB) screening in accordance with hospital policy
