Job Summary and Qualifications

A Lead Patient Transporter leads and motivates a team that move patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to and from clinical/ancillary departments, ensuring a compassionate, efficient, and comfortable experience. This role requires use of leadership skills, strong communication, assistance with patient transfers, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is typically required.

• One (1) year related experience /leadership is required

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, and pushing.

• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.

• Frequently requires working in fast-paced environments, including PRN (as needed), days, or weekends.

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.

Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center.
