The Gori Law Firm Discovery Legal Assistant Employee Job Description Job Title: Discovery Legal Assistant Department: Discovery Team Reports To: Supervising Attorney Position Details: Full Time; (40 hours/work week); Hourly; Nonexempt Supervisor Role: No Overall Descriptions of the Position Legal Assistants in the Discovery Department at The Gori Law Firm will perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, saving documents, extracting information, inputting data entry received. Position Requirements 1-3 years of clerical or legal experience Competent to Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skill set in: MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe Typing, saving and calendaring events Filing, organizing, and processing data Reading and processing information from text and online sources Proofing documents for spelling, punctuation and grammar Ability to type quickly and accurately Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers Self-motivated and well-organized Customer Service skills preferred Punctual and predictable attendance Job duties must be regularly performed in the office Position Duties (including, but not limited to) Manage and Prioritize email requests from other departments. Search and Review electronic data systems for client specific information. Keep an organized list of cases based on department needs. Send emails in a timely manner and respond accordingly as needed. Save documents into document and client management software. Organize work tasks in a sequential and detail-oriented fashion to prevent missed deadlines, and catch spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and other team members within the Firm. Education, Certificates and Licenses High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree preferred Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
