he Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD Base Pay $17.5 / Hour Job Category Direct Care Employee Type Full-time Required Degree High school Manage Others No The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is hiring a Day Program Instructor for their IDD division. Under supervision of the TxHmL Day Program Coordinator, the Day Program Instructor 1 renders daily habilitation/individualized skills & Socialization service delivery in accordance with the definitions of the state Agency service guidelines and includes the specified elements. Provides direct care for consumers served through day programs. Provides support activities that support community integration. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining documentation in accordance with state Agency guidelines. Organizes data and tracks submission of unit documentation. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary care team to provide assistance to consumers. Performs duties with maximum level of supervision. Your role in Action: Complies with TxHmL requirements to monitor service delivery for consumers on assigned caseload. Apprise Administration of available community resources. Provides consumer transportation if required. Documents and maintains records on consumers. Communicates progress and information on consumers to treatment team. Documents all consumer contacts & report incidents within Agency timeframe. Met all required education and training in accordance with all applicable standard (HHSC, The Harris Center, etc.). Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Agency’s commitment to respect multicultural differences. Performs other duties as assigned. Contributes to suicide care and prevention by embracing our values and applying a trauma-informed approach rooted in safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. What qualifications you will need: Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Experience: Must have two (2) years related experience and be able to transport consumers in Agency or personal vehicle. Other Key Qualifications: Must possess valid Texas driver’s license & be insurable under Agency policy. Must be able to interact effectively within the organization. Must have communication and problem-solving skills.
