Accounting Supervisor

Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking an Accounting Supervisor. Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with applicable funding, regulatory, and organizational policies
• Support program leadership with annual budget development and forecasting
• Prepare budget proposals and support responses to funding opportunities, as needed
• Perform monthly budget-to-actual analysis and monitor financial performance
• Track spending and provide guidance to program and finance leadership
• Prepare and submit periodic billings and financial reports
• Process budget modifications and amendments, as required
• Develop ad hoc financial analyses and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Supervise and support junior accounting or contract staff
• Prepare supporting schedules for month-end close, audits, and financial reviews
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
• Respond to inquiries and information requests from funders and internal teams
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records and reconciliations
• Reconcile billing activity to the general ledger and maintain tracking tools
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or advanced certification preferred but not required
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, preferably in a contract-based or regulated environment
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting and financial reporting systems preferred
• Familiarity with audit and compliance requirements a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
