Field Engineer - Structural Steel

Position Overview The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 depending on experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Responsibilities Meet daily with project crews to confirm all materials, equipment, and resources are readily available for the planned construction activities on the schedule. Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project. Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling. Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule. Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Notify team members and manager of any significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration. Provide project quantity input to ensure project financials are accurately reported. Manage cost coding regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities. Review and approve daily timecards, assist on-site office manager to resolve any pay discrepancies with crews. Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work completes. Initiate and manage appropriate permits, certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction activities. Conduct required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel. Attend weekly safety meetings with field team and project leadership; present field analysis as needed. Assist the development of design drawings and provide technical input, as needed. Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent. Four (4)+ years of experience as an Engineer. Heavy field interface experience. Ability to conduct meetings and present topics to a group. Ability to read and understand drawings. Basic knowledge and understanding of Procure (or equivalent), Blue Beam and HCSS. Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel). Demonstrated aptitude to understand engineering principles. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Supervisory experience preferred.
