Electrical Engineer, Lead (Sign on Bonus available for select candidates!)

Lead Electrical Engineer – Pittsburgh (Cheswick) We are looking for an Electrical Engineer, Lead to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. Your responsibilities include designing and analyzing electro‑mechanical components and systems for pumps, motors and generators, leading studies, detailed analysis, testing on new and modified machine designs, and applying leadership and technical skills to develop solutions that meet customer requirements. Responsibilities Provide guidance and expertise in electrical engineering to design and analyze complex rotating equipment and systems, including evaluating and developing new applications for existing equipment. Lead technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design, development and production. Mentor less experienced engineers and actively develop their skills. Master application of engineering software tools to evaluate electromagnetic (EM) fields of electromechanical products, using 2D/3D EMFEA codes, techniques and principles to solve technical issues, gauge designs and predict performance. Create and implement electrical system models to capture component interactions (VFDs, transformers, excitation systems and control systems). Plan and coordinate complex engineering projects, prepare schedules and provide estimates of manpower and material required. Lead design and conduct experiments to collect data, interpret results and drive solutions amid ambiguity. Communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal reports, presentations and documentation. Qualifications Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; PhD preferred. 10+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering with rotating equipment. Working knowledge of Electromagnetic Finite Element Analysis (EMFEA), system modeling, acoustics, or thermal analysis. Experience with Ansys Maxwell, Simplorer, Simulink, Mathcad, MATLAB, Flux2D, RMXPRT or other motor/EMFEA design tools. Ability to perform detailed analysis and studies in a fast‑paced environment. Experience leading a small design team and coordinating multiple project responsibilities. Proficiency with MS Office Suite for concise information relay. U.S. citizenship required due to DoD requirements; must obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
