Project Coordinator

Description

Griffin Industries is seeking an energetic, entry-level Project Coordinator to support our operations. Griffin Industries specializes in full-service prototype and low-lot machined casting solutions.

The Junior Project Manager tracks job timelines, updates ERP status, and coordinates job-folder workflow between engineering and production teams. This role acts as a foundational support within our operations, ensuring project continuity from foundry tool design through final machined castings.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP Status & Tracking: Assist in entering data, updating job status, and tracking project timelines within the company ERP system under team guidance.
• Job Folder & Document Flow: Organize, route, and coordinate physical and digital job folders between engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Meeting Support: Attend daily production meetings, job kick-off meetings, and weekly WIP (Work-In-Progress) reviews to take notes and record action items.
• Customer & Vendor Communication: Assist senior managers with sending status updates to customers and following up with vendors on order status.
• Project Scope Documentation: Learn to document job updates, customer changes, and scope revisions alongside senior team members.
• Timekeeping & Compliance: Accurately record all working hours daily in the timekeeping system; submit overtime requests for manager pre-approval.
• Travel: Travel occasionally as needed for customer or vendor visits (approximately 10% under senior supervision).

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Education & Background: High School Diploma or Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or Industrial Tech is a plus (no prior PM experience required).
• Technical Skills:
• Fundamental computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn how to read blueprints and basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with ERP systems, CNC machining, or foundry concepts is helpful but not required.
• Key Attributes:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment.
