Art Teacher

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

St. Francis of Assisi School is seeking a dedicated and passionate part time (60%) art teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters a love for learning among students. This role involves implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child's educational journey. Experience in instructional design and working with children is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art lessons for students
• Introduce and reinforce art concepts, techniques, and art history
• Foster creativity, imagination, and appreciation for the arts
• Integrate faith, culture, and creativity into art instruction when appropriate
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging art classroom
• Display student artwork and support school-wide art projects and events
• Communicate effectively with school administration and classroom teachers
• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback
• Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development
• Follow all school policies and Archdiocesan guidelines
• Model Christian values and uphold the mission of Catholic education

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Missouri Teaching Certification (Art K–12 preferred) or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Previous teaching experience in a school setting, preferably Catholic or private.
• Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission of Catholic education.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire and nurture creativity across a wide range of age groups and skill levels.
