Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Acute Leukemia and Hematology – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts based on unit needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; staffing ratios typically 1:4, may reach 1:5; weekend requirements variable

Highlights:

• Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a dedicated hematology oncology unit
• Work with a high-acuity patient population requiring blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Utilize Epic EMR system for computerized charting
• 24-bed unit with daily census of approximately 22 patients
• Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• 72-hour orientation provided; float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years overall nursing experience
• Medical-Surgical oncology experience with at least 1 year inpatient hematology oncology experience required
• Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in specialty area (hard requirement)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and feeding tube management
• Must have documented experience with leukemia and blood dyscrasias (hard requirement)
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
