Senior Vice President

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is hiring a Senior Vice President for University Communications and Marketing. This leader will serve as the university’s chief brand strategist, developing and executing a unified communications and marketing strategy to elevate Rutgers' national and global standing. The role involves aligning messaging across campuses, modernizing communications infrastructure, leading crisis communications, and fostering internal engagement to strengthen institutional identity and reputation. Highlights Lead development and execution of an enterprise-wide brand and communications strategy. Manage reputation, crisis communications, and serve as strategic advisor to senior university leadership. Build a high-performing, coordinated communications organization integrating multiple campuses and units. Leverage data analytics, digital platforms, CRM systems, and emerging technologies including AI for targeted engagement. Enhance internal communications and cultivate engagement among faculty, staff, students, and over 600,000 alumni. Required to have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in communications, marketing, or related fields. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree and experience leading large, complex organizations. Compensation starts at a minimum of $360,000 with consideration of qualifications and market benchmarks. Position requires full-time, fully on-site work and involves navigating a complex public institution environment with strong political and organizational acumen.
