The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the Human Resources function for a healthcare services company expected to scale from approximately 200 to 500 employees over the next few years. The position requires a senior HR leader who has already helped scale an organization to approximately 500 employees and can translate that experience into practical systems, leadership processes, and operating discipline.
This leader will build and strengthen the people infrastructure required for rapid, compliant, and disciplined growth, including organizational design, workforce planning, recruiting operations, compensation, benefits, payroll, performance management, employee relations, HR compliance, manage effectiveness, and the HRIS (Paylocity). The role partners closely with the executive team to ensure the organization can add headcount quickly without losing execution quality, accountability, and measurably improves the employee experience.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and works collaboratively with other Directors within SafeinHome, such as but not limited to: Corporate Controller, Director of Remote Supports, National Training Director, Senior Director of Compliance, Vice President of Engineering, President, CFO, and CEO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including, but not limited to:
• Develop and execute the HR strategy required to support growth from 200 to 500 employees.
• Design and improve HR operating processes across talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, benefits, payroll, performance management, employee relations, compliance, learning, and offboarding.
• Lead workforce planning and organization design to support added management oversight, provide alternate team structure options, and suggestions to measurably improve operating effectiveness, as complexity increases.
• Create disciplined talent acquisition and onboarding processes that improve hiring capacity and time-to-productivity.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organization design, headcount modeling, and leadership layering.
• Collaboratively team-up with our National Training Director to improve employee training, policy adherence, and HR compliance.
• Establish scalable management practices, including goal-setting, performance feedback, manager coaching, and accountability mechanisms.
• Oversee employment law compliance, policy administration, investigations, documentation standards, and internal HR controls across applicable states.
• Lead the effective use of the HRIS (Paylocity), workflows, reporting, and metrics to support reliable and data-driven decisions.
• Ensure multi-state employment compliance and sound HR controls in a regulated, Medicaid-funded healthcare services environment.
• Develop metrics and dashboards to guide executive decision-making, identify scale risks early, and propose solutions to avoid unnecessary or expensive risks.
• Support culture, employee engagement, and change management through periods of rapid growth and structural evolution.
• Build and mentor internal HR team capabilities as organizational needs expand.
• Adheres to and accurately promotes all Company Policies and Procedures.
• Responds quickly and practically to emergencies, crises, or unexpected problems.
• Does NOT share gossip, inappropriate personnel or personal details, or otherwise incite employee dissatisfaction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work environment could include the following:
• Airports, home office, driving in traffic, driving in adverse weather (i.e. rain, snow, sleet, etc.), staying in hotels overnight, and other work-travel related types of activities, as safety permits.
• Non-travel work time will be spent at a Company site in a managerial office located in near Phoenix, AZ, and/or Las Vegas, NV.
• Standard 40-hour work week applies. The position is overtime exempt.
• Out-of-office hours phone calls will be required to address employee and office site issues from time-to-time.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including meaningful senior leadership responsibility. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent advanced HR certification preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Direct experience helping scale an organization from approximately 200 employees to 500 employees, or senior HR leadership experience during that phase of growth.
• Demonstrates ability to build or significantly upgrade HR systems, structures, and processes in a scaling environment.
• Strong expertise in multi-state employment law, employee relations, compensation, performance management, and compliance.
• Experience partnering with executive leaders on organizational planning, change management, and people strategy.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
• Complete and comprehensive understanding/proficiency with all Company Policies and Procedures
• Comprehensive and ongoing understanding of all Company developed software systems required to perform the position’s job function.
• Works well with a team.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal and service-oriented skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to be kind, compassionate, empathetic, respectful, and patient.
• Demonstrates proficiency with basic computer programs, such as Outlook Email, Word, and Excel.
• Manages time effectively and efficiently.

• Demonstrates ability to multitask on a daily basis.
