- Conduct evaluations for a diverse array of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and insightful observations.
- Create individualized treatment plans with a focus on both immediate goals and broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Provide dedicated speech therapy sessions emphasizing aspects such as language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop harmonious care strategies.
- Deliver informative education to patients and their families to nurture continuity of progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Participate in inpatient therapy evaluations as needed to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
- Maintain comprehensive and punctual documentation compliant with all pertinent state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to continuous learning by staying abreast of innovations in the field through education and collaborative engagement.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the candidate has not yet achieved ASHA certification.
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for a wide range of ages, combined with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders both congenital and acquired.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- A creative approach to tailoring therapy strategies that honor varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record systems and maintaining documentation standards.
