Key Responsibilities

• Float between Medical/Oncology, surgical, and medical units within a large Med/Surg float pool environment
• Provide total patient care in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio setting without PCA support
• Care for patients with a variety of surgical and medical diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, orthopedic, general surgery, diabetes, heart disease, COPD, and kidney and GI conditions
• Perform occasional cardiac strip reading as needed; no routine telemetry assignment
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for any respiratory equipment needs on the floor
• Float to any Med/Surg pod as assigned based on unit needs, including every-other-weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated medical/surgical nursing experience that is current and relevant
• Prior experience in a large hospital setting
• Must be an experienced traveler — first-time travel nurses will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring and occasional strip reading
• Exposure to or experience with EPIC electronic health records
