If decoding a schematic feels like reading a favorite map, and you’re equally at home with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-adjacent electrical work, this role is your arena. You’ll keep our operation moving—serving customers and members by ensuring equipment reliability across material handling systems, battery-powered machinery, dock infrastructure, and specialized assets like banana room equipment.

Own uptime. Anticipate failures with smart preventive maintenance. Communicate clearly. Leave every system better than you found it—facility grounds, parking lots, fencing, bathrooms, and plumbing included.

How you’ll contribute

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance per procedure on conveyors, lift trucks, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, dock and banana room equipment, and diverse electronic/electrical equipment.
• Operate material handling equipment and other powered machinery safely and efficiently, including battery systems.
• Translate blueprints and electro/mechanical schematics into decisive action—diagnosing hidden faults and resolving complex issues.
• Document work meticulously in orders, logs, and computer-based systems.
• Partner with suppliers, customers, and teammates; mentor fellow technicians and team effectively.

Physical realities of the work

• Use computers and writing tools; read small print; visually inspect equipment and materials.
• Climb ladders/stairs; reach high/low; bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
• Independently lift/move/place up to 50 lbs; apply lateral and vertical force to tighten/loosen hardware (e.g., nuts, bolts).
• Lift/push/pull/carry tools and equipment above shoulder height without assistance.
• Discern sounds to maintain assets, spot hazards, and respond to alarms.
• Operate motor vehicles and other large powered equipment.
• Access elevated areas with approved equipment; use crossovers to navigate conveyor systems.
• Wear PPE appropriate to the task (fall, eye, hearing, respiratory, chemical, electrical protection, protective footwear).

Environment you’ll navigate

• Indoors and outdoors for extended periods; at heights; in narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces.
• Temperature swings from extreme heat to cold; wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
• Sloped/uneven/slippery surfaces; high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
• Industrial conditions including elevated noise, strobing lights, and electromagnetic (EM) fields.
• Handling of substances that may need special procedures.

Background that fits

• Minimum: 2+ years of industrial maintenance across electrical, electronics, and mechanical systems (e.g., forklifts, conveyors, building and automated equipment) OR relevant coursework/certifications in industrial maintenance, electronics, electrical, mechanical automation, mechatronics, or similar.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in mechatronics, electronics, or industrial maintenance; industry credentials such as CRMT or MCET.
