Senior Controls EngineerThe Senior Controls Engineers will be responsible for leading the controls team. In this position the Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for the control systems and qualification documentation for our growth into AI and Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives. The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for leading the controls teams supporting production on automation design, installation and launch, as well as new machine controls, drives, and schematics related to the equipment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Update, modify, and improve existing controls systems including robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic, distribution and control.Lead the controls team and projectsDesign and develop new machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systemsDevelop and support maintenance programs on equipmentCoordinate with engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and vision systemsCreate, maintain current hard copies and electronic data bases: all electrical, pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs machine power distribution and all related vendor controls component parts documentationSchedule and complete back-ups of all electronic machine controls and robotic programs on set scheduleImplement and maintain data collection system from shop floor processing equipmentMaintain and expand existing plant floor machine control to Ethernet gateways, links and connectionsMaintain all sub machine control data highwaysMaintain and update controls portion of machine standardsCoordinate with and assist company systems personnel with plant floor Ethernet machine drop routing and Ethernet message traffic controlComplete correspondence, forms and reports using computer and applicable softwareHandle confidential information on a regular basisActive member of a cross-functional launch teamEncourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by examplePromote and facilitate Open Door process, effective and respectful communicationParticipate in Continual Improvement activitiesAdhere to customer requirements, Quality System and company policiesPerform other duties as assignedThis position is onsite 5 days at the Auburn, IN facilityTriMas Packaging is a global provider of dispensing, closure, flexible packaging and custom solutions serving the beauty and personal care, food and beverage, home care, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical, and industrial and agricultural markets.
