Position Overview South Spring Behavioral Health Center is currently seeking a dedicated, Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, assessing clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to develop a comprehensive understanding of their needs. Document cases meticulously from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring all client information is accurately recorded. Design and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, adjusting strategies as needed based on client progress. Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to facilitate client openings and breakthroughs. Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout the treatment plan, making modifications in approach based on evolving needs and therapeutic milestones. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to create holistic treatment plans. Maintain open lines of communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care. Proactively identify behaviors that may impede recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges. Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to manage mental and behavioral challenges effectively. Patient Population / Client Focus Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and may present with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use issues. As a counselor, you will be working closely with individuals and groups to address these challenges, thereby making a significant contribution to their overall mental health recovery. Qualifications A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona. A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly experienced with systems like AVATAR. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective documentation and client interactions. Compassionate interpersonal skills, allowing for a supportive and trusting therapeutic environment. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, ideally within a community health setting. Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). A comprehensive understanding of the interaction between physical and emotional health challenges, including co-occurring disorders. Knowledge of the effects of prescribed medications in relation to mental health treatment. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive annual salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000, which may include a signing bonus, along with a robust benefits package.
