Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. CPI preferred. TNCC preferred.

Must-Have: Experience in IV Start, Vents, Telemetry. Level 1 Trauma Experience. Conscious Sedation experience.

Description: This position is for a Trauma Stepdown RN. The unit provides nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients. There are a total of 37 beds, including intermediate care stepdown and medical/surgical beds. The ideal candidate will have experience in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU. Travelers will not be required to care for pediatric patients. It is possible that the unit may utilize travelers for floor beds; this will be discussed during the interview. The staff-to-patient ratios are 1:5 for floor nursing and 1:3 for stepdown care. Every other weekend is required. Travelers can request blocked schedules. Candidates may be floated based on facility needs. BLS and ACLS certifications must be through the American Heart Association. Previous charge nurse experience and trauma level I experience are preferred. A fit test is required prior to starting the role. The unit is supported by a multidisciplinary team, including IV teams and respiratory services. Candidates must be able to work with various patient ages, including adults and geriatrics.
