Per Diem Registered Nurse OpportunityUW Medical Center-Montlake – 8SE Oncology Outpatient Infusion has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse.Work SchedulePer diem schedule / variable hours each weekMust be available to work day shifts Monday-Friday; shifts run up to 10 hours longMust be available to work at least 4 shifts every 4 weeksOur clinic is closed on nights, weekends, and holidaysDepartment Description8SE Outpatient Infusion has 14 infusion chairs and provides care to both UW Medicine and Fred Hutchinson patients. Patients may receive antibiotics, chemotherapy, transfusions, or symptom management in any phase of their treatment course. 8SE is a nursing-led unit and is staffed exclusively with chemo-certified RNs.Position HighlightsBe part of a nursing-led unitProvide highly needed infusion care to vulnerable patientsPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesScreen patients for administration of medications via IV infusionEnsure patients who are presenting are able to tolerate their infusionsPlace IVs, access ports, and PICCsInitiate, assess, and observe patients during infusionsDisconnect IVs and monitor patients post infusionDocument all above activities in the Electronic Medical RecordProvide education for patients and their familiesRequirementsCurrent certification in chemo administrationBroad range of chemo infusion experienceExperience with all types of central venous access cathetersExcellent skills with peripheral IVsBLSActive licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State2 years of nursing work experienceAbout UW Medical Center-MontlakeUW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
