Senior IT Manager

Position Summary

The Senior IT Manager will work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to support IT strategic planning, technology governance and the successful execution of IT initiatives, ensure compliance with Audit, regulatory requirements and industry standards. They are expected to possess a strong background in enterprise information technology, complemented by a solid understanding of the financial services. They will serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO and possesses the leadership and organizational insight necessary to act on behalf of the CIO when necessary.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head of IT in developing and executing the IT strategy.

Follow up on the performance, availability, and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure and support services to ensure they effectively support the organization's operational and strategic objectives.

Lead the coordination and resolution of major IT incidents and critical problems, ensuring timely response, effective communication, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions to minimize business impact and prevent recurrence.

Oversee the planning, management, and monitoring of the IT budget, technology investments, and resource allocation to ensure the effective and efficient use of financial and IT resources in support of the organization's strategic and operational objectives.

Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, and industry standards, and ensure IT policies, standards, procedures and controls remain aligned with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., NYDFS, FFIEC, cybersecurity standards, internal policies).

Manage information technology risks in collaboration with the Information Security and Operational Risk departments to ensure effective risk identification and mitigation.

Coordinate with vendors, auditors, traders and Head Office technology teams.

Present IT updates and metrics to senior management when required.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience/Skills:

10 15 years IT experience within banking or other regulated financial institutions

Familiarity with Banking applications (e.g., Summit, Montran, Swift, Midas, Actimize)

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, IT governance (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, regulatory requirements (NYDFS, FFIEC as applicable)

Ability to assume leadership responsibilities and effectively manage in the CIO's absence.

Familiarity with Enterprise infrastructure (Windows/VMware), Storage (e.g., Dell Power Store), backup (e.g., Cohesity), Networking and telecommunications, Enterprise monitoring and IT Service Management (ITSM)

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Strong PowerPoint presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise, and impactful presentations for senior management.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical, reporting, and data management capabilities.

Demonstrated experience in IT financial management, including budget planning, forecasting, expense control, and resource allocation.
