East West Bank gives people the confidence to reach further.OverviewJoin our dynamic Operations Accounting Team and take a leadership role in managing complex accounting functions for a growing financial institution. This position oversees critical areas of bank operations accounting and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.Key Focus Areas Include:Investments in debt securitiesBorrowingsForeign currency transactionsCash ManagementLeasesFixed assetsPrepaidsSoftware in developmentAccrual and expense variance analysisVarious fee-generating bank productsAs part of a rapidly expanding organization, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and analytics to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and insight into operational performance.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage daily accounting operations and month-end close processes for operational areas.Monitor and analyze accounting data; review monthly and quarterly GL account variance analyses.Establish and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.Review and prepare schedules and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors; assist with audits of financial statements and disclosures.Support accounting requirements for new products, services, and system enhancements.Drive improvements and automation initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed.QualificationsStrong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements for financial institutions.CPA license or MBA strongly preferred.Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or public company environments.Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments.Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems and automation tools is a plus.Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management and cross-functional teams.Banking or financial services experience preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
