Contract | 12-Hour Nights (18:45–07:15) | 3x12 per week | 36- and 48-hour weeks available | Contracts accepted from 16 weeks up to a hard stop of February 27, 2027 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a sub-specialized neurological and medical intermediate patient population with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 24-bed unit
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and participation in Rapid Response/Code team activations
• Manage complex neurological patients including those with CVA, intracranial bleeds, traumatic brain injury, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, lumbar drains, spinal cord injury, seizure disorders, and post-TPA care; Neuro experience is strongly preferred and must be disclosed if limited
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Levophed (LEVO) , heparin protocols, thrombolytic agents, PCA, and IV insulin drips
• Manage advanced respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
• Float as needed to other intermediate areas and critical care units; work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state or Compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS , BLS , and NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required; unit also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Required clinical skills include: central line/PICC/peripheral line management, blood product administration, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), pre/post hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, TR Band, IV insulin protocols, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drain management
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a locally applicable rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Preferred certifications: CCRN, TNCC, CPI
• Experience with port access/management and phlebotomy
• Experience with triage, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Charge nurse experience
