Accounting/Bookkeeping Coordinator - Horenstein Nicholson & Blumenthal

The Accounting & Administrative Specialist plays an essential role in keeping our firm’s operations smooth and secure. This position provides critical redundancy for accounting and administrative functions, ensuring continued service to our clients even during unforeseen circumstances. Responsibilities Assist with accounting processes, including bookkeeping, financial tracking, vendor coordination, and learn our accounting systems to act as a trusted backup for critical bookkeeping functions. Provide reception coverage during breaks and absences: answer phones, greet clients, receive documents, and maintain a welcoming office atmosphere. Take ownership of initiatives such as referral tracking, systems transitions, process improvements, and other operational projects that support firm growth. Manage office supply orders and coordinate with vendors to maintain smooth operations. Handle sensitive information with discretion; over time, potentially assist with confidential HR and payroll backup responsibilities as trust and knowledge are established. Qualifications Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping is strongly preferred. Ability to take independent initiative and learn quickly in a dynamic environment. Personable, collaborative, client‑focused, and able to thrive in a friendly, team‑oriented environment. High degree of trustworthiness for handling sensitive information. Comfortable learning new systems, adapting to operational changes, and supporting technology transition efforts.
