Adjunct Instructor Of Spanish

The World Languages Program at Lorain County Community College is seeking applicants for the position of adjunct instructor of Spanish, reporting to the Dean of Arts and Humanities. We are interested in candidates who are willing to teach one or two courses of beginning or intermediate Spanish each semester; course-load dependent on enrollments, attend to students' needs and provide regular course assessment and be available to work together with full-time World Languages Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty Coordinator. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a demonstrated commitment to student success are highly desired. Workload includes lecture preparation, grading student assignments, speeches, etc., attendance reports, midterm/final grades, utilizing Canvas for gradebook, and attendance at Adjunct Faculty Convocation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Spanish Language, Spanish Linguistics, Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, record of outstanding teaching and a commitment to student success, a desire to contribute to a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment where we view differences as rich opportunities for understanding, learning and growth, and two years teaching experience. Preferred Qualifications: Community college teaching experience, and familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.
