Step into a rewarding opportunity providing speech-language services to elementary students just outside Portland. This contract position begins in November and continues through June, offering a chance to make a real impact in a supportive school environment near Gresham, OR. As the Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll work with a dynamic team dedicated to student growth, with the possibility of collaborating with or mentoring an SLPA to further support your caseload.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active SLP license in the state of Oregon (or eligibility to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcome
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for helping children achieve their communication goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders for elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and other school professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and advocating for student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress reports, and related paperwork
- Mentor and support a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
