Travel CNA Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel CNA contract
• Location: Seward, Alaska
• Start Date: December 1, 2026
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks; a 13-week option may be available
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $970–$1,050
• Schedule: Four 12-hour shifts per week; day shifts are approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or night shifts are approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week; 72 guaranteed hours per two-week period
• Healthcare Setting: Long-term care facility with approximately 40 residents
• Patient Population: Geriatric residents, including individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and psychological or behavioral needs
• Assignment Flexibility: CNAs may float within their scope of practice to support nearby sister locations when needed
• Transportation: Shuttle transportation may be available between Anchorage and Seward at the beginning and end of the assignment, along with local shuttle service in Seward

Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of CNA experience required
• Previous travel healthcare experience required
• Recent long-term care CNA experience required
• Current CNA certification or nurse assistant credential
• Active Alaska CNA license required, or a pending Alaska CNA license application that has already been submitted
• Applicants with a pending Alaska CNA license must provide documentation of application submission, application fee payment, fingerprint submission, educational verification, and license verification
• Applicants with a pending Alaska license must also provide a valid CNA license from another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during on-site orientation
• Proficiency with long-term care CNA skills, including safe transfers, mobility assistance, feeding, vital signs, glucose testing, incontinence care, bathing, skin care, pressure injury prevention, and reporting changes in resident condition
• Ability to provide two professional references covering the required recent work history
• Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not accepted

Long-Term Care CNA Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate direct care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, feeding, oral care, perineal care, and incontinence care
• Obtain and accurately document temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and point-of-care glucose readings
• Assist residents with ambulation, repositioning, transfers, and mobility equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ceiling lifts
• Support skin integrity and pressure injury prevention through regular repositioning, skin care, and observation
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident environments, including occupied and unoccupied bed changes
• Follow infection prevention procedures and properly don and remove personal protective equipment
• Recognize and promptly report changes in resident condition to the appropriate nurse or care team member
• Provide respectful, person-centered care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury, and behavioral or psychological needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and float within scope when assignment needs require additional support
