Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and skilled Radiologic Technologists to join our team. The ideal candidates will provide high-quality imaging services while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiologic procedures, including but not limited to CT scans, ultrasounds, and mammography based on departmental needs.
• Maintain patient flow by scheduling patients efficiently, typically one patient per hour, to accommodate inpatients and ER patients.
• Ensure proper use of imaging equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Assist in emergency situations as needed and collaborate with other medical staff.
• Document patient information and imaging results accurately in the EMR system (Cerner).
• Participate in departmental meetings and maintain communication with the Radiology Management Team, including the Radiology Coordinator, Manager, and Supervisor.

Work Schedule

• Typically scheduled for 8-hour shifts.
• Weekend shifts will be required; candidates with proficiency in CT may be scheduled at 7 AM or 3 PM, while general Radiologic Technologists may work at 11 AM.
• Holidays will be covered by call.

Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• State certification required for Radiologic Technologists in California.
• ARDMS certification required for Ultrasound Technologists.
• Mammography Technologists must be certified through the State of California.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Fluoroscopy permit is a plus for Radiologic Technologists to perform procedures in the operating room.
• Experience with venipuncture is a plus but not required.
• Advanced certification in CT or Mammography is a plus but not mandatory.

Orientation and Training

• Ultrasound Technologists will undergo a one-week orientation.
• Radiologic Technologists without CT experience will have one day of orientation covering portables and one day in the OR.
• Those with CT experience will receive orientation tailored to their specific scanner experience.
• Mammography Technologists will be trained depending on their prior experience and tomography training.

Environment

This position supports typical hospital patients, including those from the Emergency Room, Operating Room, as well as inpatient and outpatient cases. Our Radiology department utilizes advanced equipment, including Siemens 64 and 128 slice CT scanners and Philips ultrasound machines.
