Staff Clinical Ethics Consultant

The Staff Clinical Ethics Consultant provides ethics consultation services at a multi‑hospital, quaternary care system by delivering clinical ethics consultation as part of a group practice. Responsibilities Clinical ethics consultation service weekday‑only call responsibilities (no evenings/weekends/holidays). Travel to Main Campus and regional hospitals across Northeast Ohio as needed. Maintain internal documentation of clinical ethics consultations for database records and contribute to QI/QA efforts. Mentor and supervise bioethics fellows and rotating trainees. Provide expert input on clinical ethics issues across the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise and at the local, regional, and national levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to Provide high‑quality ethics consultation services on a fast‑paced, high‑volume, team‑based service. Facilitate and lead meetings, utilize appropriate techniques for conflict engagement, and build consensus Collaborate professionally with members of multidisciplinary clinical teams and leadership, engaging multiple points of view and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. Contribute to the Center’s mission of innovation in clinical ethics, including quality assessment and improvement. Uphold standards of professionalism and excellence. Credentials/Qualifications Required: MD/DO, JD, PhD, international equivalent, or field‑specific terminal degree. Acute care clinical ethics consultation experience.
