Registered Nurse - Oncology

Location: Dallas, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM

Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse with an oncology background to join our team. The nurse will provide care for patients in the oncology unit, which typically accommodates 21 beds but currently has a census of 8-12 patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within an oncology setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage patient responses.
• Monitor vital signs and manage intravenous (IV) equipment.
• Conduct thorough assessments and document patient care using Meditech EMR.
• Assist with procedures such as blood transfusions and electrolyte replacements.
• Maintain strict adherence to unit policies and procedures, including neutropenic precautions and infection control measures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Oncology experience is required; hematology-oncology background and chemotherapy certification are preferred.
