Cedar Falls Christian Church Job Posting Preaching Minister Who We Are • The Cedar Falls Christian Church is a non-denominational, restoration movement congregation located in Cedar Falls, IA. Our directory includes about 45 families and individuals with our Sunday morning services averaging about 50 in attendance. We also have an online weekly viewing audience of about 45 people. After 25 years of service together, our current Preaching Minister has accepted another ministry. • Our Mission is to make disciples for Christ as found in the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20). Our desire is to increase our reach into the local community and exemplify and inspire a meaningful relationship with Christ. To “Love God, Love People, and Show The Way”. • Additional information may be found at our website CFCHRISTIANCHURCH.COM. • Information on the community of Cedar Falls can be found at Job Summary • Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach from the Bible, engage in pastoral care, and provide administrative leadership. • Promote growth in relationships with the Lord, relationships with one another and outreach to the lost, so that God is glorified in word, worship and daily lives. Qualifications • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is growing and contagious. • Must have a strong personal faith and be gifted and called to ministry, with a passion for evangelism and outreach. • Must be obedient to the rules set forth in the New Testament of the Holy Bible, including: o Faith in Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of God o Repentance of sins o Confession of Christ before men o Baptism by immersion into Christ o Continual obedience to the Word of God. • Meet the qualifications of an Elder (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:7-9). • The Preaching Minister shall be a member of the church of Jesus Christ (undenominational) and must believe without reservation in the full and final inspiration of the Bible to the extent that it is to him the infallible word of God and therefore the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice. He must believe unreservedly in the deity and supreme authority of Jesus Christ. • Restoration Bible College graduate, or comparable experience and background. • Capable of working with the congregation’s leaders to create and execute a long-term vision for the Cedar Falls Christian Church. • The Preaching Minister must effectively preach and teach God’s Word, organize activities, communicate ideas and use time effectively. • Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communications. • Must be aware of our changing culture and engage individuals in a way that remains faithful to Biblical doctrine. Job Duties • Preach at Sunday services, and special services as requested. • Develop sermons, plans and themes for preaching that are consistent with the Mission, Vision and Long-range plans. • Lead or participate in small groups as needed. • Teach a Bible Study class during Sunday services when requested. • Provide personal support and counseling to people as appropriate. • Provide status reports to the elders concerning contacts, activities, issues and needs. • Along with the elders, be responsible for the doctrinal integrity of all ministries. • Be aware of community services and offer referral and encouragement to those in need. • Develop relationships outside of the congregation and within the community, as well as with members of the congregation. Compensation/Benefits • Salary will be commensurate with education level and experience. • Paid vacation and holidays. • Business Mileage reimbursement. • Business Expense reimbursement. • Designated Housing Allowance.
