Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description

This role focuses on accurately picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician supports daily drug order fulfillment, medication prepacking, and inventory maintenance while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.

• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned medications and recycle or dispose of them according to established procedures.
• Prepack frequently ordered medications, label them correctly, and store them appropriately during low-volume periods.
• Manually package materials and products to support prescription fulfillment and medication distribution.
• Pull and pick medications from shelving units, prepack racks, and other medication storage areas as directed.
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to verify accuracy before final pharmacist review.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty immediately when any medication or product does not scan properly or appears incorrect.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation, replenishing supplies as needed.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA requirements for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Comply with departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required or expected to meet operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.

• Possess and maintain a clear and active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate previous experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Work at a consistent, moderate speed while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English to perform job duties and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Use finger dexterity to operate office and pharmacy equipment effectively.
• Lift up to 25 pounds on occasion as part of daily responsibilities.
• Sit or stand for extended periods, typically seven to ten hours per day, and move between sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking as needed.
• Maintain visual acuity to see and read fine print, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Hear normal voice sounds to communicate effectively with team members and pharmacists.

• Strong commitment to accuracy, safety, and compliance in all aspects of pharmacy operations.
• Ability to follow established procedures and protocols consistently.
• Reliability and flexibility to work extended hours when needed.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain an orderly workstation.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and support team members as needed.

This position operates in a pharmacy setting where the employee may sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day. Typical shifts are on weekends only, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the possibility of extended hours as needed. The role involves working around medication shelving, prepack racks, and packaging equipment, and requires frequent use of scanning and labeling tools. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures, attendance standards, and an established dress code. Employees can expect to handle medications regularly, lift up to 25 pounds on occasion, and work in a setting that emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and patient confidentiality.

This is a Contract position based out of Lebanon, TN.

The pay range for this position is $18.18 - $18.18/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Lebanon,TN.
