If that's you, let's talk! Our school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will also serve as a Teaching Assistant (TA). In this unique dual role, you will provide essential health support to students while also assisting classroom teachers in engaging students in academic and social-emotional learning activities. This is a great opportunity for LPNs who are passionate about supporting students’ overall well‑being and gaining experience in a structured, therapeutic educational environment. What You’ll Do Provide day‑to‑day health support to students, including basic assessments, medication administration, and monitoring. Assist in managing student care plans and ensure proper documentation. Support classroom engagement and assist teachers with academic and behavioral activities when not performing nursing duties. Collaborate closely with teachers, school nurses, counselors, and administrators to support students’ educational and emotional progress. Foster positive relationships with students and provide a compassionate, consistent presence in the classroom. Help students gradually integrate into general education settings and participate in field trips and other school activities. Build communication and care coordination skills by working closely with families and multidisciplinary school teams. Experience you will need: Active LPN license in Massachusetts (or ability to transfer an active license). Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to stay calm and patient in high‑energy or emotionally complex situations. Willingness to support students with autism, behavioral health challenges, and nonverbal communication needs. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in school-based or pediatric nursing. Interest or experience working in therapeutic educational settings.
