Human Service Specialist - FT, Hurricane Starting Wage: $17.51/hour (+$2/hr override for graveyard shifts, 7pm - 7am) Greatest need for Day Shift availability (7am to 7pm) POSTING CLOSES MONDAY, AUGUST 31, 2026 AT 8:00 A.M. MT Schedule: 12-hour and on call shifts. Facility is open 24/7/365. Looking for applicants interested in full-time or part-time on-call work with experience interacting with those impacted by substance use disorders and/or mental illness and easily connect with this population. Prior experience as a behavioral technician, CNA, or in other social programs preferred as this team member will perform a variety of entry level duties as needed to provide residential support, skills training and case management services to adult clients in Mental Health / Substance Use Disorder crisis. This position requires that employee be able to respond to medical / behavioral emergencies quickly and effectively, while maintaining composure in a fast-paced work environment. Shifts are either day (7am - 7pm) or graveyard (7pm - 7am). Graveyard shifts have a $2.00 an hour shift differential. Full-time position comes with a full benefits package. Full-time position works rotating weekends. Essential Functions/Duties/Requirements Develop a positive and supportive relationship with clients. Works independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively as a team contributor while understanding the necessity of communicating / coordinating client care with other employees and associated organizations including local mental health entities and area law enforcement. Assists clients in developing skills and resources aimed at achieving individual success in recovery. Coordination of services and resource allocation from admission through discharge. Observes client status at admission and throughout their stay while documenting findings in the electronic heath record. Completes all necessary paperwork/documentation including progress notes, discharge notes, safety plans, correspondence and other required documentation in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner. Attends staff training and completes e-learning assignments prior to expiration.Provides shift coverage: arrives promptly according to schedule, confers with supervisor over any schedule changes. Will work evenings and weekends when scheduled. Uses AEGIS intervention to diffuse client escalations. Assists clients in the development of their Individual Recovery Plan by helping them: articulate personal goals for recovery, determining reasonable and holistic steps to move toward recovery, identifying personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills to help reach recovery goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Some college education in psychology, social work or related field preferred Prior experience working in a social service program preferred Licenses/Certifications: Able to pass background check (BCI) CPR/First Aid certification (secure within six months of hire and upon expiration) Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A. Some knowledge of substance use disorders and treatment programs; some knowledge of community and regional resources engaged in social problem solving; some knowledge of personal financial management; some knowledge of practical consumer buying practices. B. Ability to: develop effective professional working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the public; to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; to work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment; to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow ethical guidelines and Center/Program policies, procedures, and protocols. C. Demonstrates skills: in establishing priorities, working independently, and proceeding with objectives without direct supervision when appropriate; in creativity in handling and resolving problems; in time management principles as it applies to scheduled appointments, meeting obligations, paperwork, encompassing all job duties; and in conflict resolution. D. Is familiar with food preparation techniques for up to 25 people at a time. Knows basics of comparison shopping, managing budgets allocated to kitchen, safe food handling techniques, and able to work with a dietician/food manager on food related issues, menus, and meal preparation. E. Must be proficient in use of computer and have keyboarding skills in order to enter and retrieve client's electronic records.
