We are in search of an experienced nursing director with extensive hospice expertise and a solid history of overseeing operations, including quality assurance, compliance, regulatory standards, and financial management. This hybrid position will oversee four facilities located in Oklahoma City, OK, St. Louis, MO, and Mt. Vernon, IL.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $115,564.80 - $173,347.20

Pay Rate Type: Salary

The salary range provided reflects what we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting, but actual compensation may vary as permitted by law.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for managing multiple hospice and palliative care entities, focusing on financial performance, quality enhancement, customer satisfaction, employee recruitment and retention, as well as the development of new business lines. The position also provides strategic and business planning support to supervisors and branch managers within the designated service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the annual budget for hospice and palliative care programs based on strategic and marketing plans at the entity level. Ensure ongoing data collection regarding competitive strategies in the region.
  • Recognize the significance of communication across all organizational levels, the community, and customers. Develop and implement a communication strategy that addresses the needs of staff, senior management, customers, and the community.
  • Foster a customer service-oriented environment. Provide staff with opportunities for ongoing education in customer service and managing challenging interactions. Ensure a system for customer/patient satisfaction is in place, including feedback and action components.
  • Establish benchmarks and performance metrics for individual entities within the service area. Supply senior management with accurate performance data and assist managers in developing strategies to enhance financial performance and business growth.
  • Exemplify the principles of continuous quality improvement, ensuring that decision-making is data-driven and that customer-supplier relationships are nurtured both internally and externally.
  • Maintain a low employee turnover rate by fostering a work environment where staff feel valued and perceive management as fair and communicative. Develop and sustain staffing models for palliative care programs.
  • Utilize regional resources effectively for new program development, system enhancements, and best practice promotion.
  • Encourage an organization-wide sales and marketing mindset. Support the sales and marketing teams and develop presentations as necessary.
  • Provide career development opportunities, ongoing education, and training for hospice and palliative care managers.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety in all operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Master’s degree required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of eight years of management experience, including three years in the post-acute service area.

Required Professional Licenses and Certifications:

  • For Illinois: Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • For Missouri: Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State or Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
  • For Oklahoma: Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State or Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN).
